Celebrating Black History Month

Today marks the first day of Black History Month. This year, at Kontoor Brands, we are not only marking the time by celebrating the achievements of Black Americans and the role they have played in our country’s history, but also by recognizing the toll that recent instances of racial injustice have taken on all people of color, and in particular our Black colleagues and community members.

In partnership with our Diversity Networking Association (DNA) employee resource group, we will be sharing the stories of our Black employees who are making history today both in their professional work and in their personal lives. Follow along Kontoor’s channels [LinkedIn and Twitter] to hear their perspectives, and also check out Lee and Wrangler’s social media channels, which will highlight the stories of Black leaders and creators who are making a difference today.

In addition, over the coming weeks, we will be offering virtual learning sessions for our employees, engaging with outside speakers and facilitating group book club discussions. Our goal is to continue the dialogue about systemic racism and how we can all work to overcome bias and be an ally.

Our Black History Month celebrations are just one way that we are working across our company to advance a more inclusive workplace and community, in alignment with our Inclusion & Diversity strategy. We look forward to sharing more about this initiative and the progress we’ve made against our goals.
