President, Chief Executive Officer & Chair of the Board
Scott Baxter is President & Chief Executive Officer of Kontoor Brands, Inc. He also serves as the Chair on the company’s board of directors. Baxter was named CEO in August 2018 when VF Corporation announced its intention to separate its Jeanswear organization into an independent, publicly traded company. Baxter has more than 30 years of experience in retail, operations, marketing, merchandising, sales and manufacturing.
Prior to being named CEO of Kontoor Brands, Baxter was Group President, Americas West, for VF Corporation. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing brands such as The North Face® and Vans®.
Baxter’s previous leadership roles at VF also included Group President, Outdoor & Action Sports, Americas and Vice President, VF Corporation & Group President, Jeanswear, Imagewear and South America. Baxter joined VF in 2007 as the President of the Licensed Sports Group. In 2008, he was named Coalition President for the Imagewear coalition, which comprised the Image and Licensed Sports Group divisions.
Prior to joining VF, Baxter served as Senior Vice President of The Home Depot Company, leading the Services Division. He also previously served as Executive Vice President of Edward Don & Company and held a series of leadership roles with Nestle and PepsiCo.
Baxter serves on the Board of Directors of Callaway Golf Company, a premium golf equipment and active lifestyle company.
An active member of the community, Baxter is on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro and the Piedmont Triad Partnership. Baxter also serves as the honorary chairman of the PGA TOUR’s 2020 and 2021 Wyndham Championship.
Baxter holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
EVP, Chief Financial Officer
Rustin Welton is EVP, Chief Financial Officer for Kontoor Brands, Inc. In this role, Welton has primary responsibility for financial planning, analysis and management, accounting, investor relations, tax, treasury, internal audit and information technology.
Prior to his appointment to CFO of Kontoor Brands in 2019, Welton served as Group CFO for VF Corporation’s Jeanswear, Workwear, Sportswear, Timberland® and VF Outlet businesses, and CFO, Jeanswear, Imagewear and VF Outlet for Central and South America. Welton joined VF in June 2012 as Vice President and CFO for Jeanswear Americas.
Prior to joining VF, he served in financial leadership roles with Newell Rubbermaid, Electrolux, Fisher Scientific International and Eli Lilly.
Welton holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an M.B.A. from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
EVP, Global Communications & Public Affairs
Mame Annan-Brown is EVP, Global Communications & Public Affairs, for Kontoor Brands, Inc. In this role, Annan-Brown has responsibility for all aspects of global corporate communications – developing, leading, and executing a cohesive internal and external communications strategy. Additionally, Annan-Brown leads Kontoor’s government and public affairs efforts.
Annan-Brown has more than two decades of experience in delivering high-impact communications and government affairs strategies. Prior to joining Kontoor Brands in 2021, Annan-Brown served as the Head of External Relations at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. Prior to that role, she was Head of Communications at IFC Asset Management Company (AMC). Annan-Brown was also Head of Communications at the Results for Development Institute (R4D), Director of Marketing and Communications at United to End Genocide and Vice President of Investment Bank, Marketing and Communications at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.
Annan-Brown received her bachelor’s degree in economics from McGill University and a master’s degree in economics and international development from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
EVP, Global Strategy
Sara Bland is EVP, Global Strategy of Kontoor Brands, Inc. Bland is responsible for leading the company’s strategy, innovation, consumer insights and sustainability functions.
Bland is a proven business leader with more than 20 years of experience harnessing innovative thinking to drive business growth. Prior to joining Kontoor Brands in 2019, she served as Vice President, Global Business Lead, Nutrition at GlaxoSmithKline, a global healthcare company. She previously held a variety of leadership roles within marketing, strategy and consulting at Fortune 500 companies including PepsiCo, Booz Allen Hamilton and Procter & Gamble.
Bland received a dual bachelor’s degree in psychology and history from York University and a master’s degree in international relations from Cambridge University Additionally, she holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer
Scott Shoener is EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer for Kontoor Brands, Inc. In this role, Shoener leads global human resources activities across Kontoor’s organization, including Talent Management and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Inclusion & Diversity and Executive Development.
Prior to joining Kontoor Brands in 2019, Shoener spent more than 30 years in several HR positions with increasing responsibility at VF Corporation. In his most recent role with VF, he served as VP, Human Resources Business Partner, Americas East, Corporate Functions & Global Wrangler®. Previously, he was VP, Human Resources, Global Corporate Services. Shoener also served in a number of HR positions with VF’s Imagewear business and its Timberland® brand. Shoener began his career with VF as an intern.
Shoener earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Business Administration from Albright College. He holds the designations of Senior Certified Professional by the Society of Human Resources Management and Senior Professional in Human Resources by the HR Certification Institute. He serves on the Board of the Guilford Merchants Association.
EVP, Global Supply Chain
Karen Smith is EVP, Global Supply Chain, for Kontoor Brands. Smith’s responsibilities include oversight of Kontoor’s global supply chain including operations, master data governance, customer service, manufacturing, sourcing, product quality, distribution and logistics. She is also responsible for all components of Kontoor’s supply chain strategy, including trade-related functions and operations.
Prior to her current role, she was VP, Global Supply Chain Operations, for Kontoor Brands. In this role, she was responsible for all planning functions, customer service, consumer relations, business intelligence and master data governance.
Prior to joining Kontoor Brands in 2019, Smith was Vice President of Supply Chain Operations Americas East, for VF Corporation, a global apparel, footwear and accessories company. In that role, she managed global operations for the Timberland® brand as well as North American operations for VF Imagewear, Williamson-Dickie, Nautica®, Kipling®, Lee® and Wrangler®.
With more than 30 years of experience in the apparel industry, Smith has held senior leadership positions within commercial and supply chain functions, including marketing, merchandising, sourcing and operations with leading brands including Champion and Jockey.
She serves on the Board of Directors for the American Apparel and Footwear Association.
EVP, Global Brand President - Lee®
Chris Waldeck is EVP, Global Brand President - Lee®. Waldeck is responsible for the brand’s global business, including marketing, sales and distribution.
Prior to joining Kontoor Brands in 2019, Waldeck was President, Lee® and Rock & Republic®, North America for VF Corporation, where he managed the U.S. business for the brands. Before joining VF, Waldeck was with the Adidas Group as Vice President, General Manager for the Reebok brand, and was responsible for brand marketing, merchandising, public relations, finance and operations, while leading a growth platform across wholesale, retail and e-commerce channels.
Waldeck also held various roles with increasing responsibility at Cramer Products Inc. and Spalding Sports. He began his career at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes.
Waldeck holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Emporia State University.
EVP, Global Brand President - Wrangler®
Tom Waldron is EVP, Global Brand President - Wrangler®. Waldron is responsible for the brand’s global business, including marketing, sales and distribution.
Prior to joining Kontoor Brands in 2019, Waldron was President, Wrangler® and Riders by Lee®, North America for VF Corporation. Prior to that role, he was Vice President of Mass Brands and held various roles of increasing responsibility in merchandising, sales and operations.
Prior to joining VF in 1995, Waldron began his career with the Kmart Corporation, working in operations and buying across a number of categories.
Waldron earned a bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s Bryan School of Business.
