Lee is thrilled to join Wrangler for the first time at its fifth annual Jeansboro Day,” said Chris Waldeck, President Global Brands, Lee®. “Greensboro’s rich heritage in textiles and denim is one of many reasons the Lee brand is excited to call this community home. We look forward to the future of both brands in a city that not only offers a great business environment and unmatched talent in the industry, but also is welcoming, diverse, and thriving."

The family-friendly celebration, which is open to the public, will feature live music by worldwide high-energy band Simply Irresistible; a beer garden featuring a special ‘Jeansboro Hometown Ale’ by Joymongers Brewing Co.; a branded Lee® and Wrangler® fashion show; an onsite photo booth; face painting; balloon characters; custom, limited-edition T-shirts; and a variety of local food trucks. The Mayor of Greensboro, Nancy Vaughn, will be on site to proclaim June 19 as “Jeansboro Day.”

Jeansboro Day 2019 coincides with the opening of the Lee® and Wrangler® Hometown Studio, located at 300 S. Elm St. Now open year-round in downtown Greensboro, the Hometown Studio includes authentic Lee® and Wrangler® apparel available for purchase.

“Jeansboro Day is a fantastic opportunity to recognize the important role Greensboro holds in the history of the American blue jean. The city has been a powerhouse of textile production and innovation in the South for more than 100 years,” said Tom Waldron, President Global Brands, Wrangler®.  “We’re excited to share our fifth annual Jeansboro Day with the community that has championed Wrangler since its inception.”

Proceeds from the sales of the limited-edition ‘Jeansboro Day’ T-shirt as well as an additional monetary donation will be made by Lee® and Wrangler® to the local Greensboro nonprofit Backpack Beginnings, an organization dedicated to delivering child-centric services to feed, comfort and clothe children in need. The organization also operates food pantries and a free clothing pantry.
