Kontoor Brands Foundation Awards its 2023 Grants to Seven Leading Non-Profits Advancing Food and Housing Security in Greensboro, North Carolina

GREENSBORO, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Kontoor Brands Foundation, the private grantmaking organization funded by Kontoor Brands, Inc. (NYSE: KTB), a global lifestyle apparel company led by two of the world’s most iconic consumer brands, Wrangler® and Lee®, proudly announces grants to seven leading nonprofit organizations based in Greensboro, NC. The 2023 recipients were chosen for their innovative efforts addressing food and housing security for high-need community members.

Kontoor Brands Foundation aims to fund qualifying nonprofit organizations working in the areas of food and housing security and improving access to education in the greater Greensboro community.

For the 2023 round of funding, the Foundation focused on enabling individuals and families to live their lives with dignity. By engaging locally focused organizations, the Foundation is addressing food and housing security and supporting the health and well-being of the Greensboro community.

The 2023 grant recipients include:

Backpack Beginnings: Backpack Beginnings is committed to creating a community of healthy and well-nourished children. Backpack Beginnings’ mission is to deliver child-centric services to feed, comfort and clothe children in need.

Community Housing Solutions: A nonprofit organization supporting homeowners in Guilford County, Community Housing Solutions works with homeowners who fall below specific income levels to make needed repairs to provide safe and decent housing.

Family Service of the Piedmont: Serving more than 19,000 local children and adults each year, Family Services of the Piedmont works to address issues of domestic violence, child abuse, mental health, and financial stability.

Greensboro Urban Ministry: Greensboro Urban Ministry provides food, shelter, and supportive services to community members most in need.

Interactive Resource Center: Working to create a safe space and basic needs for people in the Greensboro community who are experiencing homelessness, Interactive Resource Center is helping those in need reconnect with their own lives and with the community at large.

Partners Ending Homelessness: Working to create housing solutions for those in crisis, Partners Ending Homelessness connects those experiencing homelessness to safe, healthy, and sustainable housing and appropriate resources.

Positive Direction for Youth and Families: Through access to a variety of programs including an emergency food pantry, resource center and community garden, Positive Direction for Youth and Families is working to alleviate hunger and homelessness in the Greensboro community.
